Steven Hunt’s post match comment after the recent Ireland Scotland match, a not so veiled barb aimed at Charlie Adam was predictably seized upon by the tabloid press and given short shrift by national boss Craig Levein who insisted that Adam’s anonymous performance against the Irish was down to the fact he was carrying a back injury. It was given even shorter shrift by the tartan army in the comments section of newspapers and websites immediately who were angry that anyone would have the audacity to criticise our new talisman. Look more closely however and you start to wonder if Hunt may have had a point.
